Il mattino ha l’oro in bocca / The early bird catches the worm

Altrochè “il mattino ha l’oro in bocca”!!!!

Oggi proprio non gira, e di oro nemmeno l’ombra. Ho puntato la sveglia alle 7.30am (già ieri sera non ne ero convinta) e mi sono a fatica alzata dal letto alle 10.30am…..altro che Miracolo del Mattino….oggi è un vero e proprio incubo!Non ho fatto nulla delle attività previste dal mio rituale mattutino. Ancora con la mente intorpidita da una notte di sonno che sarebbe sicuramente dovuta durare di più, ho acceso il computer e ora sono qui davanti a questo monitor illuminato nella speranza che si illumini anche la mia mente per trovare un argomento interessante di cui scrivere oggi. Più ci penso e più credo che non dobbiamo forzarci a fare ciò che non sentiamo. Oggi ho il classico blocco dello scrittore!!!! (un modo raffinato di definire la mia stanchezza da weekend)

Cercando in internet l’immagine da associare al post di oggi (e chiamarlo post ci vuole coraggio, visto che fino ad ora è un insieme di pensieri annodati su loro stessi) ho digitato la frase “il mattino ha l’oro in bocca”. Mi sono incuriosita nel leggere le possibili definizioni sull’origine di questo modo di dire, ve le riporto qui di seguito in ordine sparso:

– 1 – Il detto deriva da un’antica tradizione siciliana. La notte precedente la festa di fidanzamento della figlia maggiore in una famiglia, questa nascondeva nella bocca di uno dei “mascheroni” delle fontane del paese uno dei gioielli, solitamente d’oro, donatile dalla nonna materna. La mattina successiva le ragazze nubili del paese andavano a caccia del gioiello (che secondo la convinzione popolare avrebbe condotto a un rapido fidanzamento), con diritto a tenerlo per sè. Ovviamente, chi si alzava prima aveva maggiori possibilità di trovare il gioiello nella bocca del “mascherone” della fontana prescelta.

– 2 – Quando nel 1820 si andava a cercare l’oro nei fiumi, se arrivavi tardi , non trovavi neanche 1 metro libero per metterti col tuo setaccio………morale : chi si svegliava prima otteneva un posto migliore dove poteva esserci più oro.

– 3 – Il mattino è l’alba, il momento in cui ci si sveglia, quindi il momento in cui si passa dal sonno alla coscienza. In questi momenti alcuni contenuti inconsci a partire dai sogni passano a livello di coscienza, non è insolito che scoperte scientifiche o matematiche o intuizioni musicali o artistiche avvengano all’alba. L’oro è il metallo prezioso dell’alchimia, cioè la conoscenza, la sapienza, mentre la bocca è luogo della parola, del logos, del consapevole. Che il mattino abbia l’oro in bocca per un alchimista significa che al mattino è il momento per realizzare, comprendere, descrivere in parole coscienti quanto fino allora era rimasto oscuro. Possono essere scoperte utili a tutta l’umanità o molto più facilmente risoluzioni di piccoli problemi e storie personali.

– 4 – Si tratta del colore del cielo grazie al sole quando albeggia. Quindi i nostri antenati vedevano questo fenomeno e lo ritenevano di buon auspicio, anche per iniziare bene la giornata lavorativa.

Ognuna di queste definizioni mi ha regalato un approccio diverso a questo modo di dire, insegnandomi ancora una volta che nella vita le cose non hanno mai solo un punto di vista. Regaliamoci la possibilità di osservare i fatti non solo dal nostro punto di vista, ma ricerchiamo il confronto, ascoltiamo altri pareri e modi di vedere le cose. Ascoltiamo, analizziamo, interiorizziamo.

Anche oggi, nonostante il difficile risveglio mattutino (a dir il vero sveglia del tutto non lo sono nemmeno adesso!) ho imparato qualcosa ed ho arricchito la mia vita di nuovo significato.

All right, “the early bird catches the worm” !!!!

Today just does not turn, and gold even a shadow. I set the alarm clock at 7.30am (yesterday evening I was not convinced) and I’m raising effort of bed at 10.30am … .. Miracle in the Morning … today is a real nightmare! I did nothing of the activities provided by my morning ritual. Still with the mind numb from a night sleep would surely gone on longer, I turned on the computer. Now I’m here in front of this monitor lit in the hope that also enlighten my mind to find an interesting topic to write about today. I believe that we should not force us to do what we do not hear. Today I have the classic writer’s block !!!! (An elegant way to define my weekend by tiredness)

Looking at the internet image to associate with today post (and call it post it takes courage, because so far is a set of thoughts knotted on themselves) I typed the phrase “the early bird gets the gold in the mouth”. I was intrigued to read the possible definitions on the origin of this figure of speech. I reproduce all the definitions below in no particular order:

– 1 – The saying comes from an old Sicilian tradition. The night before the engagement party of of the eldest daughter, she was hiding in the mouth of one of the “masks” the fountains of the country one of the jewels, usually gold, donatile by her maternal grandmother. The next morning the unmarried girls of the village went to the gem hunting (which according to popular belief would lead to a quick engagement), with the right to keep it to herself. Gold is the precious metal of alchemy, that is knowledge, wisdom, while the mouth is the place of the word, the logos, the conscious. That the morning has gold in the mouth for an alchemist it means that in the morning it’s time to realize, understand, describe in words what had hitherto remained conscious obscure. They can be useful discoveries to all mankind, or more easily resolutions of small issues and personal stories.

– 4 – It is the color of the sky with the sun when it dawns. So our ancestors saw this phenomenon and considered him a good omen, even to start the working day.

Each of these definitions has given me a different approach to this way of speaking, still teaching me once that in life things have not only a point of view. Let’s present the opportunity to observe the facts not only from our point of view, but looking for confrontation, we listen to other opinions and ways of seeing things. We listen, we analyze, we internalize.

Even today, despite the difficult morning awakening (to say the true, I’m not awake altogether even now!) I learned something and I have enriched my life a new meaning.
